Terms & Conditions


General

These General Terms and Conditions (GTC) govern the legal relationship between the guest and the Backstage Boutique Hotel as the operator of Backstage Hotel Vernissage, Backstage Serviced Apartments, Backstage Luxury Chalet and Backstage Luxury Loft. Only the contract terms and conditions of the hotel apply. If the present terms and conditions contradict any terms and conditions of the customer, the present terms and conditions take precedence.
 

Conclusion
The contract between the parties only comes into effect with this written reservation confirmation from the hotel to the customer. Unilateral changes or additions to the contract by the guest are ineffective. The subletting and re-letting of the provided rooms and their use for purposes other than accommodation require the prior written consent of the hotel. A reservation made on the day of arrival is binding at the moment of acceptance by the hotel.
 

Definition
For the purpose of this contract the Backstage Apartments are named as Hotel rooms. If not listed separately, Backstage Boutique Hotel also includes Backstage Luxury Chalet and Backstage Luxury Loft.
 

Services
The services of the contract is determined by the individually made and confirmed reservation of the guest. The guest has – unless contractually agreed - no claim to a specific room.
If, despite a confirmed reservation, no rooms are available in the hotel, the hotel must inform the guest in good time and offer equivalent replacement in a nearby hotel of comparable or higher category. Any additional expenses for the replacement accommodation are charged to the hotel. If the guest refuses the replacement room, the hotel has to reimburse the guest for services already provided (eg down payments). Further claims by the guest are not valid if the replacement accommodation was equivalent.
 

Duration of stay
The rooms are available from 3pm on the agreed day of arrival and must be vacated by 11am on the day of departure.
Late check-out until 1pm is subject to availability and upon request for an additional charge of CHF 50.00. If the guest vacates the room late, the hotel may charge 50% of the room price. The hotel is entitled, in case of late vacation of the room, to remove the guest's belongings from the room and to store them elsewhere in the hotel.
 
 
Terms of payment for direct bookings
Prices are in Swiss Francs (CHF) and include VAT. Prices in foreign currencies are indicative and will be charged at the prevailing exchange rate. City tax is not included in the room rate. The credit card details are treated confidentially.
 
Backstage Hotel Vernissage and Backstage Serviced Apartments

Single reservations
After the final booking, the credit card will be checked for validity. A reservation of CHF 100.00 will be made. It is only a reservation that expires after 14 days. The amount will not be debited. The credit card acts as guarantee for the booking.
 
Groups
For group reservations (from 5 rooms) we require a deposit of 50% up to 30 days prior to arrival in case of a definite reservation. If the reservation is made at short notice, the hotel requires a credit card guarantee for the entire amount of the reservation. Conditions and prices are determined individually.

Christmas / New Year / February / March
For reservations during Christmas and New Year, the total amount of the stay must already be paid 4 weeks before arrival. The guest can pay either by bank transfer or by credit card. Additional services can be paid on the day of departure in cash or by accepted credit card.
 
Backstage Luxury Chalet and Backstage Luxury Loft
 
After the final booking a deposit of 50% of the total amount will be requested. The balance must be paid 90 days prior to arrival, unless otherwise agreed.
 

Additional costs

City tax
The city tax is not included in the room rate.
Adults CHF 3.00 per person per night
Children 9-16 years: CHF 1.50 per person and night
Children under 9 years are exempt from the tourist tax.
 
Extra bed / Sofa bed

In winter: CHF 70.00 per person per night
In summer: CHF 50.00 per person and night
Children 0-6 years are free
The specified maximum number of persons must be observed. It is not possible to add an extra bed in all rooms. This must be clarified with the hotel prior to booking.
The extra beds at Backstage Luxury Chalet and Backstage Luxury Loft are subject to a service charge per booking.
 
Dogs
Dogs may only be brought with the hotel's prior consent. A supplement of CHF 15.00 will be charged per night. The dog owner is obliged to keep the dog properly on a leash during his stay. A dog blanket and a bowl are provided by the hotel upon request. Dogs are not allowed in the spa area of the hotel.
 

Cancellation of a reservation
A cancellation of the reservation is only valid with the written consent of the hotel. In case of no-show, the total amount of the stay will be charged. We recommend taking out a cancellation insurance for any eventuality such as accident, illness, late arrival or early departure.

Backstage Luxury Chalet and Backstage Luxury Loft
90 days before arrival - 50% of the cost of the confirmed reservation
89 to 0 days before arrival - 100% of the cost of the confirmed reservation
 
By accepting the terms and conditions in the confirmation, you allow us to debit the amount from the credit card provided.
 
Impossibility of arrival
If the guest cannot or does not arrive in time due to force majeure (flood, avalanche, earthquake, etc.), he is not obliged to pay the agreed fee for the missed days. The guest must prove the impossibility of arrival. The obligation to pay for the booked stay, however, resumes from the moment of arrival.
 
Early departure
If the guest leaves prematurely, the hotel is entitled to charge 100% of the total booked services. The hotel endeavors to re-allocate the unused services in case of early departure. If the hotel can otherwise provide the unused services in the agreed period to third parties, the amount invoiced to the guest will be reduced by the amount that these third parties pay for the cancelled service.
 
Extension of the stay
Unless otherwise agreed, the guest is not entitled to a prolongation of his stay. If the guest cannot leave the hotel on the day of departure because of unforeseeable circumstances / force majeure (eg extreme snowfall, flood etc.), all departure options are blocked or unusable, the contract will automatically become invalid for the duration of the impossibility of departure extended the previous conditions.
 
Cancellation by the hotel

The hotel is entitled to rescind from the contract at any time, for a justifiable cause by immediate unilateral and written declaration and with immediate effect: The following are examples of objectively justified reasons:
• An agreed advance payment or security deposit was not made during the period set by the hotel;
• Force majeure or other circumstances for which the hotel is not responsible, which make the fulfilment of the contract objectively impossible;
• The hotel has good reason to believe that the use of the agreed services may affect the smooth operation of the business, the safety of other hotel guests or the reputation of the hotel;
• The guest has become insolvent (bankruptcy) or has ceased his payments;
• The purpose or occasion of the stay is unlawful.
In the case of a cancellation by the hotel for the aformentioned reasons, the guest is not entitled to compensation and the compensation for the booked services remains in debt.
 

Liability
The Backstage Boutique Hotel disclaims all liability for theft and damage of items brought in by the customer, event participants or third parties.
The guest is liable to the hotel for all damages and losses caused by him, his companion or his assistants or event participants, without the hotel having to prove the fault of the guest.
The guest is liable for arranged services and expenses of the hotel towards third parties.
Smoking is strictly allowed only on the balconies. Smoking in the rooms is strictly prohibited.
 

Massage appointments
Reservation of a massage appointment requires a credit card as a guarantee. Treatments can only be cancelled at least 24 hours before the appointment. In case of a cancellation within 24 hours before the treatment time and in case of no show, the full amount of the invoice will be charged.
 

Reservation Restaurant After Seven

Reservations are only accepted with a valid credit card. The After Seven restaurant is entitled to charge the amount of CHF 150.00 per person 24 hours before the reservation of the credit card. The booked amount is considered a deposit. The reservation is free of charge until 24 hours before the table reservation time.
 
Further Provisions
Damaging or defamatory comments on rating platforms (such as Tripadvisor) about hotel services that are proven to be inaccurate and refutable by the hotel are reported to the appropriate authorities. Damages claims of the hotel are reserved.
